At minimum, we require your refusal notice, the submitted plans, and any supporting documents submitted as part of the planning application (drawings, design statements, reports, photos etc.). If anything else is needed, we’ll let you know immediately.

How long do I have in which to appeal a refusal decision?
In general terms, appeals must be submitted to either PINS or PEDW within the following time-scales:
• Householder appeals: must be submitted within 12 weeks of the decision notice.
• Full planning refusals (Section 78): must be submitted within 6 months of the decision notice.
• Non‑determination appeals: must be submitted within 6 months of the date the council should have made a decision.
• Listed Building Consent appeals: must be submitted within 6 months of the decision notice.
• Advertisement consent appeals: must be submitted within 8 weeks of the decision notice.
• Enforcement notice appeals: must be submitted before the notice takes effect (often 28 days).
• Certificate of Lawfulness appeals: must be submitted within 6 months of the decision notice.
• Tree Preservation Order (TPO) appeals: must be submitted within 28 days of the decision notice.
• High hedge appeals (Wales only): must be submitted within 28 days of the notice.

Timescales vary depending on the type and complexity of the appeal but most appeals take between 3 and 7 months depending on the procedure.
